Build and maintain the pipelines that move data from source to product, ML training, and HEI Truth Report. You will pair with the Senior Data Engineer and grow into a Senior role over 18-24 months. The role exists for engineers who already know that data engineering is mostly about taste — knowing what to refuse to model, which corners to round, and which to leave honest.

What you will own
- 01 Build and run data pipelines (ingest → transform → serve).
- 02 Maintain data quality + lineage.
- 03 Author dbt models that other engineers learn from.
- 04 Help the ML team with training-data pipelines.
- 05 Author public data deliverables for the HEI Truth Report.
- 06 Triage data-quality issues at root.

Who thrives here
- → You have shipped at least one data pipeline that has run on schedule, with quality checks, for 6+ months.
- → You have written a dbt model someone else has copied from.
- → You have caught a data-quality bug with a test you wrote.
- → You can describe a real-world dataset you cleaned and what the corner cases were.
- → You write methodology notes when a pipeline produces a number with caveats.

A scheduled week: five days, eight hours a day, with two full rest days and latitude over when within the day you work.

Objectives agreed at the start of each cycle. Hours recorded for compliance are never used as a performance score.
Where this stands legally
Within the 9-hour day and 48-hour week ceiling of the applicable state Shops and Establishments Act, with at least 24 consecutive hours of weekly rest and a break of at least 30 minutes after five hours of continuous work. Hours are recorded for statutory compliance only. Work beyond the scheduled week is agreed in advance and compensated with time off in lieu.
